Police: Valley Stream man accused of impersonating a police officer

Posted: Updated:

Nassau police have arrested a Valley Stream man they say was impersonating a police officer.

Officers say they pulled over Kaneik Brown on Gold Street in Hempstead around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

They say Brown waived his wallet at the officer through his car window, claiming he was a Nassau County police officer.

Police say the officer found a fake name tag, handcuff keys, a BB gun and holster, a dashboard light and more while searching Brown's car.

Brown faces charges of criminal impersonation and multiple traffic violations.

He's due in court next month.
