Health officials say unnecessary virus tests contribute to national shortage of supplies

Health officials are urging doctors to limit the amount of coronavirus tests given in New York City to save supplies.
They say people who are so sick they need to be hospitalized should still be tested.
Officials say demand for unnecessary tests is contributing to the national shortage of masks, gowns and swabs.
Those items need to be thrown out after each test.
