John Venditto, one of Long Island's most well-known and longest-serving town supervisors, has died. He was 70 years old.
Former Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto had been diagnosed with lung cancer only recently. He passed away overnight.
The Republican served as town supervisor for nearly two decades.
He was arrested in 2017 but found not guilty of federal corruption charges. He later pleaded guilty to a state charge but got a conditional discharge.
Funeral services for the longtime Massapequa resident have not yet been announced.
