Schools across LI continue to close, look for ways to teach online

School districts across Long Island are continuing to close due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Officials in Plainview Old-Bethpage handed out 300 Google Chrome books to children to ensure they can continue their lessons.

The Rockville Centre school district remains open so far while district administrators are preparing to teach their students online.
"We're trying to use everything people are accustomed to using and figure out a way to make it work at home," says Rockville Centre Superintendent William Thompson.
Due to the pandemic, Gov. Cuomo waived the 180-day minimum instructional requirement districts must meet to receive funding from the state.
