Bellone: Suffolk coronavirus cases climb to 28

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone says there are now at least 28 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the county.

A total of four cases in the Town of Huntington, two in the Town of Islip, two in the Town of Smithtown, five in the Town of Brookhaven, 11 in the Town of Southold, three in the Town of Babylon and one in the Town of East Hampton. A total of 57 individuals are under mandatory quarantine.

Bellone is recommending the suspension of all non-instructional after-school activities.

In addition, civil service examinations will be suspended for the next two weekends.

The county will also restrict officers from going inside with EMS during sick calls to limit exposure where they can.
