Suffolk health officials: Member of Farmingdale State College tests positive for COVID-19

The Suffolk County Department of Health announced Thursday that a member of the campus community of Farmingdale State College tested positive for the coronavirus.
The campus will be closed on Friday in order for health officials to conduct a review as part of the effort to minimize a public health risk.
The news comes as more and more schools across Long Island announce closings.

The West Islip School District announced it will be closed after a staff member at Bayview Elementary School tested positive for the virus.

St. Anthony's High School in Huntington announced they will be closed for the rest of the week.
In addition, Sag Harbor school officials and Smithtown officials say they will be closed until March 22.
The superintendent of Smithtown stressed that there are no known cases of the coronavirus in the district.
The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District will be closed again today after a staff member contracted the virus.
Meanwhile, Greenport School District and Jericho School District are closed for the remainder of the week.
The Southold School District will also be closed Monday and Friday.
The Valley Stream Central High School District announced it will be closed Friday after a staff member reported that she tested positive for the coronavirus. In addition, district officials say all activities scheduled to take place over the weekend are canceled.
Valley Stream is expected to reopen Monday after all school buildings are deep cleaned.
Levittown School District will be closed Friday and Monday after a staff member at G.C. Tech tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Port Washington School District will be closed Friday and Monday after due consideration of the most up-to-date information from federal, state and local health departments.
The Wantagh School District was informed that a student tested positive for the coronavirus. As a result, the district will be closed Friday.
Sachem School District received confirmation from the Suffolk County Department of Health Services that a community member has a confirmed case of COVID-19. The individual has children who attend Chippewa Elementary School. The district will be closed Friday, March 13.
The Sewanhaka Central High School District will be closed Friday, March 13. 
The Oysterponds School District will also be closed Friday and Monday.
Also the College Board has canceled SAT tests that were scheduled for this weekend at Westbury High School, Journey Prep School in Farmingdale and the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County.
