Newsday: Nassau projections show over 205,000 homes to get tax hikes

Property tax hikes are likely on the way for hundreds of thousands of Nassau homeowners, but others are expected to see their bills cut.

Newsday says new county projections show 205,000 homes will see tax hikes starting in October.

It's based on County Executive Laura Curran's reassessment plan.

The median increase would be $485 under a proposed phase-in plan.

The projections also show more than 177,000 property owners would get tax reductions.
