Religious leaders from St. James Roman Catholic Church in Stratford were on the platform at the station from 4:30 a.m. to give out the ashes.

They say they also plan to go to the Stratford police station, fire house and EMTs to distribute ashes to first responders.
St. Matthew Church in Norwalk is running a 'Mobile Ashes-On-the-Move Bus' at locations in Norwalk, Darien, Southport and Stamford.
The doors of St. Matthew Church opened on Ash Wednesday from 6 a.m and will be open until 9 pm.
