New simulator lab preps SUNY Maritime students for life on the water

SUNY Maritime students are prepping for life on the water after school with their new state-of-the art e-navigation Hornblower lab.
The Hornblower lab has been in the works for about a year. Hornblower is the company that operates city ferries.
Students get familiar with the maps and are able to track incoming vessels, as well as learn how to navigate the busy New York harbor.
News 12 is told many students start careers with Hornblower after graduation. Hornblower will be hiring soon ahead of the new ferry stops, including one in Throgs Neck next year.
