Boeing announced Monday that it has discovered foreign-object debris in the fuel tanks of several 737 max planes that the manufacturer has in storage. Representatives for the company say they plan to investigate the debris, and that this new discovery will not delay the planes return to service. The Boeing 737 Max has been grounded since last March after its involvement in two fatal crashes.
Amazon’s Jeff Bezos is taking heat from climate activists who are calling him a hypocrite after he announced that he would donate $10 billion of his own money to fight climate change. Bezos posted yesterday on Instagram that global warming is “the biggest threat to our planet." Activists say they remain skeptical of Bezos due to Amazon's negative environmental track record. One campaigner has told Business Insider that, "It's hypocritical to announce that climate change is the biggest threat to our planet while at the same time boosting the fossil fuel industry."
More leadership changes are happening at Nike. The sportswear giant announced Monday that it has hired a new chief operation officer and chief financial officer, both from within the company. Andy Campion, the company's current vice president and CFO will become the COO, and Matthew Friend, its current CFO of operating segments, will become the full-time CFO. This comes just four months after the company announced a new CEO.
