Gunshots fired for second night in a row on Princeton Street in Bay Shore

For a second night in a row, Suffolk Police say someone fired shots on Princeton Street off William Street in Bay Shore.
Police say there were calls to 911 about shots fired on Monday night at 11:22, and again Tuesday night at 11:36.
As News 12 Long Island has reported, there have been at least 7 shootings in the last six months in Bay Shore.
In January, two men were hospitalized after being shot on Callahan Street, in September a 17-year-old-girl was shot in a drive-by on 2nd Avenue off Brook Street, and in November a man was hit in the leg by shots fired on 4th Avenue between Roosevelt and Charles Streets.
As for the motive for the two most recent shootings, a police spokeswoman told News 12, "There is an ongoing dispute between two local neighborhood groups and some of the individuals in those groups are believed to be associated with Blood and Crips street gangs."
At the beginning of this year, police said they were stepping up patrols in the Bay Shore area.
