First responders rushed to Sands Point Monday to rescue a man who fell into a 12-foot hole.
Police got the call for help just before 9:30 a.m. Chopper 12 was over the scene on Longwood Road.
First responders say the worker was walking on a board placed over the top of the hole when the dirt started to cave in around him. They say the walls around him were not shored up properly.
The man was airlifted to a hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
