Officials say two more possible cases of the coronavirus have been identified in New York City, which brings the number up to three possible cases.
The two new possible cases involve individuals who are over 60 years old and had recently been in mainland China.
According to the state Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the coronavirus was first identified in Wuhan, China, in 2019. There are now 11 confirmed cases in the United States.
Adam Boll, with Northwell Health, says people have been coming into Urgent Care facilities wondering if they have the virus. The only way to test for the virus is through specialized testing. He says people would need to ask their doctor.
The state Health Department says 12 people have been tested for the virus in New York, but none of those tests have come back positive.
According to the Health Department, the coronavirus can lead to fever, cough and shortness of breath--symptoms that are similar to the flu.
Doctors say just because people have those symptoms doesn't mean they have the coronavirus.
The outbreak is also prompting new passenger restrictions from the TSA.
Airlines are now required to ask anyone on flights from outside of the U.S. if they've been to mainland China in the last 14 days. If so, they can only enter the country through one of seven airports, which includes John F. Kennedy International Airport, where the CDC can conduct medical screenings.
