Things get back on track at DMV following major network outage

Posted: Updated:

Things were getting back on track Tuesday at Long Island’s DMVs following a major network outage statewide that caused long lines and frustrated customers.

New laws have also affected volume at DMV offices, including people who immigrated to the United States without documentation being allowed to apply for driver licenses. Also, many motorists have to now apply in person for enhanced or Real ID driver licenses.

The new licenses are required for air travel in October.
