Police say a teen has been arrested following a stabbing in a Smithtown parking lot.
The incident happened Wednesday night outside the CVS store on Terry Road.
According to police, 17-year-old Dillon Lynch stabbed a 19-year-old in the chest following a dispute in the parking lot around 8:15 p.m.
Prosecutors say the victim was stabbed three times by Lynch but survived.
Lynch's attorney, Jamie Rosner, says the stabbing was an act of self-defense. He says Lynch agreed to meet the victim and another man at the CVS, but then the two men tried to rob Lynch, and Lynch fought back.
As a condition of his release from court, Lynch was ordered to stay away from the victim in this case. He must also wear a GPS location device.
Lynch's attorney says his client has no criminal history.
