A Freeport family is grieving after their missing relative was pulled from Milburn Pond on Saturday.
Dennis Jones, 40, went missing the weekend before Christmas. When he didn't come home for the holidays, his family knew something was seriously wrong.
"When Christmas Eve rolled around and he didn't walk through the door--that's when everything just really hit hard," said the victim's sister, Alyson Jones.
She says police went out in the water with boats and divers went into the water and used infra-red and sonar equipment.
Eventually the sonar sensed something in the water and police divers found Jones's body.
"I'm happy they did find him because if I would have found him....I don't know," Alyson Jones says. "I don't know."
She says the family is appreciative for everyone's efforts to find her brother.
There is still no update in the investigation but the family believes Dennis Jones's drowning may have been accidental.
