Police: Man found with gunshot wound in Wheatley Heights dies

A man who was found with a gunshot wound on the side of a road in Wheatley Heights early Saturday morning has died, according to Suffolk police.

A man who was found with a gunshot wound on the side of a road in Wheatley Heights early Saturday morning has died, according to Suffolk police.
Police say a 911 caller reported that the man was lying on Little East Neck Road shortly before 3 a.m. The man was found between Charlestown Place and Westmore Place.
Officers arrived to find the man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have identified the man as 30-year-old Frederick Delacruz, of the Bronx.
