A pregnant woman was attacked inside an elevator in a Bedford Park building, according to police.
They say the suspect and the victim were in the elevator Monday around 1:15 p.m. when an argument quickly turned violent.
Some of that fight, which police say happened inside the Tracey Towers along Mosholu Parkway and Paul Avenue, was caught on camera. The 40-year-old victim is seen apparently trying to yank her black purse back as another woman with a red coat is holding onto it and trying to leave with it.
Seconds later, her attacker is seen apparently punching the victim multiple times in the face and torso, and police say the suspect eventually took off with the purse. The victim told police she had $400 inside her purse.
It’s unclear how the argument started, but the victim suffered multiple blows to her face and body. At this time officials believe the woman they’re searching for is between 25 to 35 years old.
As for the victim, News 12 is told she’s eight months pregnant, but police say she refused medical attention.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
