Celebrating Carol Silva - Carol signs off from the anchor desk

Posted: Updated:

News 12 Long Island’s Carol Silva signed off the air this morning after more than 30 years of delivering local news to our viewers. She was surrounded by her friends, family and, of course, co-workers - past to present.

After a glowing video tribute from her co-workers:

Carol's friends and family surrounded her at the anchor desk to reminisce and reflect on their times with her.

Carol then signed off for the last time:

Shortly after, in the newsroom, to honor Carol and her 33 years of broadcast excellence, News 12 Long Island renamed its studio "The Carol Silva Studio!" Congratulations Carol!

We wish her well as she embarks on her latest journey in life – retirement!

Check out photos from her last day below.

And watch some behind the scenes in the studio.
