A man has admitted to misleading donors into giving more than $402,000 in a New Jersey GoFundMe scam.
Mark D'Amico pleaded guilty to having people donate to a fake cause. He was charged last year along with his girlfriend at the time, Kate McClure, and Johnny Bobbitt, of Philadelphia.
The group is accused of lying and creating a "Paying It Forward" story where Bobbitt, a homeless man, helped the couple with roadside assistance.
D'Amico will be sentenced in April.
