Storm brings wintry mix to LI with up to 6 inches of snow possible

The first winter storm of the season is bringing a wintry mess of rain and snow to the Island and is expected to last into early Tuesday.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for Nassau County and parts of Suffolk County through 7 a.m. Tuesday. News 12 meteorologists say to be alert for changing weather conditions and slick roads through the day.
News 12 meteorologists say the precipitation will quickly turn to snow that could last overnight.
Nassau could see 3-6 inches of snow while Suffolk could see 1-3 inches.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency in seven counties as the winter storm swept across the state.
