Suffolk steps up DWI patrols for holiday weekend

Posted: Updated:

The night before Thanksgiving is traditionally known as one of the biggest nights for partying and catching up with friends, but police are reminding people to do it safely.

Police in Suffolk are enforcing their message with a smashed up car.

They say the driver was drunk and caused a three-car crash earlier this year in West Babylon.

DWI patrols will be stepped up beginning tonight and throughout the long holiday weekend.

Suffolk County is also partnering with ride sharing service LYFT to give drivers another choice for a safe ride.
