Posted: Updated:

Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Nassau County Executive Laura Curran handed out Thanksgiving meals in Westbury Tuesday.

They were accompanied by lawmakers, athletes and service members.

Gov. Cuomo thanked Walmart and Wegmans for their part in supplying 35,000 holiday meals across the state.

“[There are] a lot of problems and a lot of unrest in this country. But we're still in the greatest state in the nation and the greatest nation on the globe. And we have many blessings to be thankful for,” said the governor.

The meals were handed out at the Yes We Can Center.
