A Middle Island woman is facing felony DWAI charges after a crash with her two children in the car.

Police say Heather Sload was driving on Route 25 in Coram Thursday when she crashed into a tree.

They say the 40-year-old was driving under the influence, and charged her with DWAI and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Her 8-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and then released to a family member.
