Monroe police have identified a suspicious man who caused a lockdown at Masuk High School and a manhunt by police.

In a Facebook post, police wrote that the school resource officer noticed the person sitting inside the car and approached him, but he sped off.

The car was later found abandoned in the driveway of a home nearby, and there was a foot chase between police and the suspect.

Police say the school was placed in lockdown, and they searched the area outside of the school for the man but never located him.

Police say the search was called off after classes ended for the day. They say they have identified the suspect, but have not released his name to the public.
