Fairfield police search for 2 suspects in Verizon robbery

Investigators in Fairfield hope surveillance video will lead them to two men who robbed a Verizon store Saturday night.
Video shows two men entering the store on Black Rock Turnpike with one cutting security wires to tablets. The other man is seen on his phone.
One of the suspects threatened to harm a worker, according to police, before cutting the security wires to phones. The two then take off in the video.
"There were no weapons displayed," said Fairfield Police Capt. Robert Kalamaras. "And there were no weapons even implied other than the fact that they made some threatening comments to the clerk."
Police believe the pair is linked to other crimes in the northern part of the state.
"In previous cases, those cases didn't rise to the level of a robbery. It was just a larceny where they cut the wires and left the store," Kalamaras said.
Shoppers say it's generally a safe neighborhood.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau at 203-254-4840.
