Samantha Augeri is thrilled to return to News 12 Long Island as the evening meteorologist. Before returning to News 12, Samantha was a meteorologist at Fox 5 NY for four years. She was the weather producer and on air fill-in for Good Day New York. Before joining Fox, she was the weekend morning meteorologist at News 12 Long Island where she covered Superstorm Sandy as well as other major weather events. Samantha grew up on Long Island and is a graduate of Holy Trinity High School. She moved on to earn a bachelors degree in communications from the University of Scranton, where she was captain of the women’s lacrosse team. She also earned a degree in broadcast meteorology from the University at Albany.
Her career started at WBNG, a CBS affiliate in Binghamton, where she gained experience forecasting lake effect snow and the microclimate between valleys and hills. She also spent time as a multimedia journalist.
When she’s not forecasting the weather, Samantha loves to run, surf, and spend time with her twin sons, Jack and Ben.
