Group on dirt bikes caught harassing officer at Bruckner Boulevard gas station
A group of motorcyclists was caught on camera taunting and harassing an officer after he tried to stop them at a gas station Sunday.

Police say they first noticed the group of illegal dirt bikes and ATVs zooming near a BP gas station on Bruckner Boulevard near the Bruckner Expressway.

Cameras were rolling as a squad of bikers in face masks circled the officer around 4 p.m.

A man is seen sneaking up around the patrol car and tries to pick up a dirt bike from the ground. Seconds later, the lone officer notices and runs after him.

Police say the officer pulled out a stun gun and called for backup before the group fled the scene.

The manager of the gas station described to News 12 what he saw that day. According to him, they were staying out of trouble, but the video paints a different picture.

"The bikers are young kids, teenagers. Nice people and they don't harass anyone or fight anyone," says Manvinder Oberoi, BP manager.

The manager of the BP tells News 12 some of those riders went inside to buy a couple things, like they always do.

Seconds later they noticed a cop circling their bikes, says Oberoi.

"They saw a cop by pump number two. They were scared, everybody scared,” says Oberoi.
Detective Michael Debonis confirms that Jonathan Bain, 20, was one of the motorcyclists involved.

Bain was arrested on Faile Street and Bruckner Boulevard at approximately 4:25 p.m. Sunday.

Debonis tells News 12 that Bain is being charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana.

Police say they have also identified the other bikers and are now looking for them.

It is illegal to ride dirt bikes and ATVs on New York City streets.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
