Twitter wants feedback on proposal to combat deepfakes

California's privacy law is the new benchmark for Microsoft in the U.S. The tech industry fears the California rules will hurt profits from data collection, and is spurring calls for federal regulations that would pre-empt a patchwork of state-by-state rules. California's rules are set to go into effect in 2020.

Burger King announced it will be launching a different version of its meatless burger across parts of Europe. The vegetarian, Unilever-made Rebel Whopper will launch at more than 2,400 European locations. Burger King will continue using Impossible Brand meatless meat in the U.S.

Twitter wants your feedback on its proposal to combat deepfakes. The proposal would place a notice next to tweets that contain quote 'synthetic or manipulated media,' and warn people before those tweets are liked or shared.
