Veterans can now apply to SUNY and CUNY schools for free.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that application fees will now be waived for veterans, as well as their spouses.

Those fees range from $50 to $65.

Spokesperson Kathy Coley says Farmingdale State College has the highest percentage of veterans enrolled in the SUNY system.

The Board of Trustees will start implementing this change at their next board meeting.
