A Riverhead woman is facing new charges for her alleged involvement in a shooting that triggered a statewide Amber Alert for her 3-year-old daughter.
According to court records, a grand jury has indicted 42-year-old Patchita Tennant on attempted murder and other charges.
As News 12 has reported, the mother allegedly shot Andrew Mitchell multiple times in his Flanders home in September and took off with their daughter. Prosecutors say Tennant suspected Mitchell was having an affair.
Tennant's attorney says she acted in self-defense.
The child was dropped off with a family member after the incident.
Tennant is expected to be arraigned on the new charges Thursday.
