Nassau Democrats celebrated their victories on Election Day at the Garden City Hotel.

Nassau District Attorney Madeline Singas also won a second term and addressed the room of excited supporters.

One of the biggest races of the night was the race for Hempstead town supervisor. Laura Gillen, who is trailing in the race, decided not to address her supporters and is waiting for absentee ballots to be counted.

Her opponent, Donald Clavin Jr. declared victory earlier in the night.

Also in Nassau, Republican Joseph Saladino declared victory for a second term as Oyster Bay town supervisor, defeating a lifelong Republican who was running on the Democratic Party line.

“It’s a great day in Oyster Bay and a great day in Nassau County, not just for Republicans, for all of us,” said Saladino.
