Posted: Updated:

Flames ripped through a home in Levittown early Sunday morning as a young family slept inside.

Officials say the call came in around 1:40 a.m. Levittown firefighters were returning from another alarm when they got the call for the fire on Red Wing Lane.

Fire units arrived within minutes were met with heavy fire. The fire was brought under control in a little over 30 minutes.

Police say the occupants were able to escape and no one was injured.

Most of the damage was at the back of the two-story home.

There is still a wood post for a real estate sign on the property. News 12 is told that the family had just moved in on Saturday.

The Red Cross was notified to assist the family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
