A wicked Halloween storm left thousands without power across Long Island.

Many residents woke up to a mess of downed branches, trees and even some power lines.

Suffolk County officials say they got more than 50 calls overnight about downed trees.

PSEG Long Island officials say at the height of the storm, about 59,000 customers lost power. They say the number of power outages was evenly split between Nassau and Suffolk counties.

In Northport, the storm left about 20 homes without power. Streets also had to be blocked off as power lines fell across the road.

An uprooted tree also fell on the roof of a house in Commack.

Officials say some traffic lights also malfunctioned during the storm, but say no one was hurt.

Some residents are dealing with more than just power outages.

Cheryl Chatterton, of Northport, says she's concerned for her neighbors, who suffered significant damage to their home.

"They have major issues with their house so their electrical panel and water got taken out," she said.

PSEG officials expected to have all power restored by late Friday night or Saturday.

A tree also came down on a house on Don Lane in Hauppauge. Some wires were also taken down but no one was hurt.

The winds also left an entire neighborhood is in the dark after trees took down multiple poles and a transformer on King Avenue in Selden.

According to PSEG, there were 19,201 affected customers and 784 active outages as of around 4:45 a.m.
