Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the opening of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory’s Center for Therapeutics Research on Wednesday.
The center will allow the world's top scientists to explore advanced therapies for genetic diseases with a focus on cancer research.
The lab was built on a $25 million grant, which Gov. Cuomo says may add to Long Island's thriving biotech industry. He says he believes Long Island is “going to be the next research triangle.”
Gov. Cuomo also says the state invests $250 million in Long Island alone in biotech.
