Police: Security guard sprayed with mace during robbery in Roosevelt Field Mall

Police say a security guard was sprayed with mace as five people were committing a robbery at Roosevelt Field Mall Monday night.
They say four women and a man were spotted on surveillance video walking into the handbag department at Neiman Marcus.
Police say the man used bolt cutters to cut the security wires securing the bags to the shelves, and the women ran away with two handbags worth $9,000.
They say when the suspects were stopped by security, one of the women pulled out a can of mace and sprayed the guard in the face.
Another security officer approached the man, who police say raised the bolt cutters over his head in a threatening way before running off.
Police say the suspects left in a red Hyundai Santa Fe.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
