Police say a Smithtown man was arrested for stealing a package and breaking into a Nesconset home.
Daniel Culotta stole a package from the front porch of a home on Townline Road around 3 p.m on Wednesday, Oct. 23, according to police.
The package contained a Halloween costume for the homeowner's 1-year-old son.
Police say he kicked in a back door and stole a power washer from the garage soon after. The homeowner and his son confronted the thief and fled the scene with the costume and power washer, as stated by police.
He was arrested Wednesday evening and received a burglary charge in the second degree, as well as petit larceny.
