The captain of the St. John's College lacrosse team is accused of stabbing his roommate.
According to the NYPD, Matthew Stockfeder plunged a knife into the victim's stomach, nearly disemboweling him. Officials say the victim is expected to survive.
Police say the incident occurred on Tuesday at an unofficial frat house near the college campus in Queens.
Stockfeder was arraigned Wednesday on assault charges.
He is a graduate of Walt Whitman High School in Huntington and is no longer listed on the lacrosse team's online roster.
