It's homecoming week at Warren Hills High School -- but it's unclear if the Friday night football game will even happen.
As News 12 reported, Warren Hills called off their last game after two students were confirmed to have mononucleosis, with several others showing symptoms.
Currently, several players are being tested, with results expected Wednesday.
The school said in a statement, "The safety and well-being of all students and student-athletes have been and will remain the district's top priority."
Playing football with mono is dangerous, and this school knows that. Quarterback Evan Murray died of a lacerated spleen after taking a hit on the field four years ago. A medical examiner reportedly said Murray had mono.
Right now, Warren Hills is scheduled to play Rahway Friday night, but it is unclear whether the game will actually happen. Neither the coach or school superintendent responded to News 12's calls.
