East Quogue residents vote against plan to become incorporated village

Residents of an East End hamlet vote down an opportunity to become incorporated.

East Quogue residents voted against the incorporation Thursday.

The effort was started by a group that wanted more control over local issues such as land use.

The incorporation would have come with a small tax hike for residents.

It's not clear if the group will try again.
