The Long Island boxer who was put into a coma following a brutal knockout has died, according to his promoter.

The promoter for 27-year-old super welterweight Patrick Day says the Freeport native suffered a traumatic brain injury and was placed in a coma following his injury Saturday night.
It happened while Day was in the ring with opponent Charles Conwell in a USBA title bout in Chicago.
