Isles give away replica Stanley Cup rings to celebrate team’s 1st championship

The New York Islanders are offering some hardware to their fans tonight at the Nassau Coliseum in the form of a replica Stanley Cup ring as they celebrate the 40th anniversary of their 1979-80 championship.
The team clinched their cup win in overtime during Game 6 of the cup final against the Philadelphia Flyers.
It was the beginning of their early 80s dynasty that netted the team four consecutive championships.
The first 10,000 fans to the game tonight vs. the Florida Panthers will receive a ring.

Saturday is also alumni night at the Coliseum. Forty-seven former Islanders will be in attendance.

Anybody who wants a ring should get The Barn early.
