James Murdoch buys stake in Vice Media Group

James Murdoch is buying a minority stake in Vice Media Group, according to the Financial Times. Murdoch seeks to assemble a new portfolio of media companies following the breakup of his family's entertainment era, moving away from the conservative outlets that were the hallmark of his father Rupert.

Apple CEO Tim Cook defended the company's decision to pull a Hong Kong mapping app from the app store. Apple came under fire for the app after Chinese state media said it was being used to target individual police officers. Critics point out the app only shows large concentrations of police and not individuals.

Bill McDermott is stepping down as CEO of enterprise software company SAP. His tenure as the first American helming the German giant began in 2008 as Co-CEO, and he eventually became its sole CEO in 2014.
