New information about the Holbrook man accused of driving drunk and killing a Boy Scout last year in Manorville has come to light as his trial begins.

Thomas Murphy is facing vehicular manslaughter and more than a dozen other charges.

Prosecutors say he was drunk when he hit a group of Boy Scouts hiking in Manorville a year ago.

Andrew McMorris, 12, was killed.

Newsday now reports that during a pre-trial hearing Tuesday, a police officer testified that Murphy nearly fell during a sobriety test.

Jury selection in Murphy's trial is now underway.
