Convicted dog-fighter to spend six months behind bars

Posted: Updated:

A convicted dog-fighter will spend the next six months behind bars.

Prosecutors say there was a tip back in April that dog fighting was taking place at the home of 64-year-old Jessie Jones.

When they searched the property, police say they found seven pit bulls with bite and puncture wounds all over their bodies as well as dog fighting paraphernalia.

Four of the dogs have since been adopted. Jones is also banned from owning animals for 10 years.
