Yanks play Game 1 of ALDS playoffs tonight in the Bronx

The Yankees play their first playoff game tonight against the Twins, and their starting pitcher is making his playoff debut.

James Paxton gets the start tonight at Yankee Stadium.

Paxton went 15-and-6 this season with a 3.82 ERA and 186 strikeouts.

And after a solid season Paxton said he's ready to win in the postseason.

"This is a team that commits itself to winning and making the playoffs every year.  That's a dream for all baseball players when we’re young - to pitch in the postseason.  Pitch in the World Series.  That's what we’re all dreaming of. To get this opportunity and the chance to go out there and do this, I feel lucky," said Paxton.

First pitch at the stadium is set for 7:07 p.m.

Game 2 is Saturday -- a "twilight" start -- at 5:07 p.m.

That's also in The Bronx before the series shifts to Minnesota on Monday.

The ALDS is a best of five series.
