Even though the season of autumn officially began Monday, as far as mother nature is concerned the summer of 2019 is still going strong.

Jones Beach and three other state parks on Long Island are open for swimming Sunday.

Lifeguards will be on duty until 5 p.m. at Jones Beach as well as at Hither Hills State Park in Montauk, Robert Moses and Sunken Meadow State Park.

The beaches normally close after Labor Day but have remained open due to the weather.
