There was a massive show of support Tuesday night for a police officer who was shot in the line of duty in Colorado Springs.
Police officers came out in numbers today to salute Officer Cem Duzel. They met him when he arrived at MacArthur Airport.
They were also there waiting when he arrived home in Manorville.
Duzel has been working as a police officer in Colorado Springs. He was shot in the head last year while taking on an armed suspect.
His father says the support from police and neighbors means so much to his family.
"It's amazing. The neighborhood, again, we're lucky to be here in such a great place. He's going to recover from this. He's tried real hard. He's tried real hard and considering where we were last year and now, it's nothing short of a miracle," said his father Mumtaz Duzel.
At one point, Duzel was in intensive care. He'll now continue his recovery at home in Manorville.
