Police in Middlesex County are on alert after a woman was attacked while out jogging.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office says that the woman was attacked Monday just before 7:30 p.m. while out jogging around Franklin Avenue and Thornton Court in South Plainfield.
The extent of the woman’s injuries was unclear.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned black man, who appeared to be about 25 years old. He was clean-shaven and was wearing a dark dress shirt, dark dress pants, and white earbuds in his ears. He is about 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds.
He was last seen running westbound on Franklin Avenue, according to police.
Authorities are asking any nearby residents with security cameras to check the footage around the time of the attack to see if any images of the suspect were captured. If so, they should contact South Plainfield police.
