Connecticut kicked off Climate Week Monday by recognizing a Westport homeowner who is going green.
Gov. Ned Lamont and Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe were joined by other town and state officials to present Robin Tauck with the town's Green Building Award.
Tauck's newly buily home at 227 Hillspoint Road generates and conserves enough energy with its solar panels and Tesla power walls to run completely independently, and even feed some power back to the grid.
State officials say this is exactly the example they're trying to set for homeowners.
Lamont says encouraging efficient homes like this is just part of his push to have the whole state on renewable energy by the year 2040.
